Cup Final Matchup Set
Adam Henrique continued to write his magical playoff story in the early moments of overtime of Game 6. Henrique poked home the game winner as it squeaked through Henrik Lundqvist's legs and it sent the New Jersey Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Devils will not get set to face the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. New Jersey got off to a slower start against the Rangers, but turned it on as the games went by. New York seemed to be overly fatigued, raising questions of whether or not John Torterella overplayed some of his main players too much in the two previous seven game series the team played. The Devils will now face without a doubt the hottest team in this year's playoffs the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings have gone 12-2 since the playoffs began about a month and a half ago, and have yet to lose a game on the road. Jonathan Quick has been lights out between the pipes, and Dustin Brown has scored clutch goal after clutch goal. Even Anze Kopitar has shown dominant streaks that has made him such a highly touted player ever since he was drafted in 2005. At first glance it may seem the Kings could have an easier time with the Devils after making quick work of their three previous opponents, but New Jersey looks to be the toughest yet. Aside from Vancouver, the Devils are the deepest team the Kings will face and can match their talent throughout their top forward lines. Both teams play with under regarded defences, with Los Angeles' being a tad more offensive and New Jersey's a little more defensive. Martin Brodeur has been steady in net for the Devils, but there is that seed of doubt that inconsistency could take over and with Quick rarely making any mistakes, you would have to give the Kings the edge in goal. The Cup Final will begin on Wednesday in New Jersey, airing on CBC in Canada and NBC in the United States.

Drogba Decides to Leave ChelseaDespite a heoric performance throughout Chelsea's Champions League run, star striker Didier Drogba has decided he will not return to Stamford Bridge after his contract runs out next month. It has been thought that Drogba may sign with Shanghai Shenhua in China, where another former Chelsea forward Nicolas Anelka moved in January. Chelsea is very much a team in transition, and therefore was not committal to giving Drogba, a longer term, big money contract. Fernando Torres, a favourite of owner Roman Abramovich, has made it known publicly he is unhappy with his current situation with the team, so the departure of Drogba could move Torres back into the team's main plans.

The Montreal Canadiens finally announced the signing of Rick Dudley as their new assistant general manager. The news comes weeks after it was first speculated that Dudley could be making a move to Montreal after Marc Bergevin was hired as the GM. An agreement was made between the Canadiens and Dudley's old team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, that says Dudley will not be working for Montreal until after the June 23rd Entry Draft to avoid any conflict of interest. With the Leafs picking 5th, and Montreal picking just two spots ahead at 3, Leafs GM Brian Burke was very cautious letting Dudley go, but in the end let the move happen.
